Headland Road House
North Curl Curl
Perched above Curl Curl Beach with sweeping views across Manly and the city beyond, this contemporary coastal home is a thoughtful reworking of a 1960s cottage, achieved through a series of considered alterations and additions. The client’s brief centred on expanding the home to better support family living while enhancing its connection to the surrounding landscape and maximising its elevated outlook.
The design introduces a generous master suite, a new lower level accommodating two bedrooms, bathroom, laundry and rumpus, along with a new garage and entry sequence. Planning centred on framing views—lush gardens to the rear and coastal panoramas to the front—guiding both layout and openings. Side windows were reduced in favour of carefully positioned skylights, including an oversized skylight that brings natural light deep into the stair and kitchen.
The interior scheme, conceived by our in-house team, is defined by a refined and durable material palette. Natural slab stone, terrazzo, brushed nickel hardware and feature lighting come together to create a calm, textural environment that balances coastal ease with a sense of simplicity.
