Berthong is a substantial heritage-listed Victorian mansion located on a prime waterfront site in Elizabeth Bay. The original house dates back to 1886 and was one of the first villas erected in the Macleay Estate, a subdivision of the Elizabeth Bay House Estate. The architectural commission involved a major restoration of the original building fabric and conversion back to a grand family residence. The detailed design is a careful marriage of traditional detailing in a more modern planning configuration.
