The newly built three-level house is orientated directly north to take advantage of the views over Byron Bay and the adjacent National Park. Constructed from local basalt stone, dark cement cladding boards, hardwood timber windows and doors and metal deck skillion roofs, the design creates a distinctive beach house feel whilst also meeting stringent fire rating requirements. Extensive louvred windows promote cross ventilation and outdoor living in this subtropical climate.
